Born out of an international search firm, our team is passionate about the impact leadership can have on creating shareholder value.

We enjoy the challenge of assembling leadership teams where capital is deployed within a finite timeline to achieve a targeted objective.

Understanding the performance of past investments and the impact that leadership has had is critical. All the evaluations we reach are supported by objective data before assessing the individual and cultural fit.

We act quickly and deliver with flexibility when supporting our clients.

David has conducted multiple searches across EMEA and the US and is responsible for delivering searches as well as being part of the Drax Board focused on the client experience and developing our capabilities. David delivers Chair, Non Executive and CEO appointments and recently undertook a global search across health services that captured a short list of candidates from three continents.

When not working and family life permits, David can be found on a golf course, in a restaurant or skiing.

Ruby is responsible for developing our network and presence across Technology & Tech-Enabled Business. Recently Ruby has undertaken a number of searches on behalf of our clients embracing the opportunity that digitisation presents to their businesses across a variety of different sectors from both the B2B and B2C environments. Ruby leads on diversity within leadership across the company and has been both an early adopter and instrumental in introducing Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In initiative to the UK. Ruby has worked in the Technology & Tech-Enabled Business sector since the mid 90s and was previously based in Amsterdam for over 3 years, throughout the dot.com and technology bubble era. She has conducted board level assignments throughout Europe, Australia and the US.

Outside work, and when family life permits, Ruby can be found shooting, diving or skiing.

James is responsible for Drax’s engagement with Private Equity and proposition development. Having led the focus within Private Equity for over a decade, James has led and supported a number of significant Private Equity transactions by bringing alongside the executive teams of Chair, CEO and CFO throughout Europe and the US. His experience and knowledge within Private Equity and associated advisors is extensive.

When not working, James enjoys a variety of interests including horseracing, shooting and archaeology. James can also often be found in the restaurants of both West London and Edinburgh, socialising with friends and family.

Graham is responsible for client experience, capability development and innovation across the company. In addition, Graham also leads our board practice, conducting searches internationally across all sectors. Graham is passionate about the impact that individuals can have, and the power of developing cohesive and high performance teams.

When not working, Graham can be found coaching youth cricket and rugby.

Mark joined Drax 5 years ago in the role of a Researcher and supported multiple assignments across all sectors within both PE backed and high growth companies. Over the last two years, Mark has focused on developing our presence within consumer and distribution. The recent assignments Mark has led have been board and operational board hires largely across multi site, highly distributed businesses, both B2C and B2B. He has successfully worked on PLC and Private Equity board appointments.

When not working, Mark has a keen interest in fitness and travelling and has been to every continent except South America, which he plans to correct in the near future.

Mathew joined Drax 9 years ago as a graduate in the role of researcher. He has supported numerous searches across all sectors but over the last 3 years has focussed on growing our FS practice. The recent assignments Mat has led have been board level hires across insurance, consumer finance, trust & fiduciary and fintech. Mat recently undertook a chair search for a PE backed insurance company as well as supporting a client pre deal in securing a leveraged MBO from a FTSE listed company.

When not working Mat has a keen interest in skiing and football, still turning out regularly for a team as goalkeeper. In his down time Mat has been rated as a top 20 poker player in the UK and has played at the World Series twice.

William is responsible for developing Drax’s activities across Europe, with a particular focus on working with large cap private equity funds. He joined Drax after spending three years with Skillcapital where he worked on a wide variety of search assignments for private equity-backed businesses within the European industrial and services sector. Previously, William was an investment banker for 16 years, including ten years based in Paris. He worked for global banks Citigroup, BNP Paribas and Royal Bank of Canada, where he advised both corporate and private equity clients on numerous M&A transactions and capital raisings.

Outside work, William is a keen tennis player and is passionate about exploring the best restaurants in London.

Stuart joined the Drax Group in June 2018 to lead and grow our Interim Management Practice. Stuart typically supports organisations, both Private Equity backed and Listed, which are undergoing some form of transformational journey, hiring expert SMEs to shape, deliver and embed digital or business led transformation and growth for his clients. Prior to joining Drax, Stuart spent six years at a competitor where he helped build and led their Business Transformation and Change Practice. He has over 15 years’ experience within interim management and consulting, cross sector and function, and excels at building trusting, lasting partnerships. With a degree in Law, Stuart is also a qualified solicitor, having trained with a top 50 full service law firm.

When not working, Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife and young son.

David joined Drax two years ago and brings with him over ten years experience within the search environment. Prior to focussing his skills within the recruitment sector David worked in practice, PLCs, owner managed and entrepreneurial start up businesses.

When not working, David enjoys foreign travel, music and reading. He is also a member of Club Triumph and has taken part in a number of classic car runs and shows.

Nick is a member of the deal origination team responsible for developing and managing our Chair network. Nick works closely with our clients in their pre deal cycle in supporting their desire to gain access to specific boards of companies which they are evaluating. Prior to joining Drax, Nick had carved a career within technology enabled marketing services where he worked in an international start up from out of the UK and Australia. Nick joined the company as a Researcher but quickly gravitated to developing his current role.

In his spare time, Nick is a keen sailor, enjoys rugby, skiing and trying to herd 3 children under 3 years old.

Jack is responsible for developing our Interim Practice and supporting our clients’ short term resource needs against their specific business challenges and opportunities. Supporting our clients across all sectors both pre and post deal, Jack has supported a number of the portfolio companies invested in by private equity as well as private equity firms themselves. A recent assignment undertaken by Jack, saw a leading global PE house appoint a deputy CFO to develop and run the data room in anticipation of initiating a sale process. The interim CFO was later appointed as the CFO 6 weeks after his assignment had concluded.

When not working, Jack enjoys a variety of sporting interests, including cricket (and is the Captain of the Drax 1st XI), skiing and fishing.

Mark is responsible for developing our CFO Practice. Mark has delivered numerous CFO searches across a range of sectors for private equity backed portfolio companies across Europe. He is also responsible for building relationships with the CFO community to understand how Drax can support their own personal career as well as strengthening their finance teams. Mark recently undertook an assignment in which he appointed a CFO to take a PE owned organisation to a main market listing. The business was subsequently oversubscribed and exceeded expectations.

When not working, Mark enjoys playing and watching a variety of sports, predominantly football and cricket (opening the batting for the Drax 1st XI).

Kate joined Drax in 2018 to support the development of our consumer practice across both private equity and high growth companies. She previously spent three years working for an executive search and advisory firm specialising in private equity. As part of the global consumer team, she worked on multiple international assignments, helping clients to research markets, originate transactions, and identify leadership teams for private equity-backed companies across all cap sizes. Earlier in her career, Kate worked for a boutique investment management fund where she was responsible for portfolio decision making and stock selection as an Assistant Fund Manager, and led research and analysis as a consumer sector specialist.

Outside work Kate’s continued dedication to deepening her knowledge and understanding of the retail sector knows no limits (within budget!).

Rob is responsible for the appointment and delivery of Board level assignments across the B2B industrial manufacturing and engineering services sectors within the UK and internationally (including China & The Middle East) for Private Equity backed, high growth companies.

Rob has recently led the successful appointment of a CEO for an aerospace manufacturer, a Chairman for an energy services provider and a CEO for a manufacturing and services company.

When not working, Rob can be found entertaining small children, usually at a race track.

Euan joined Drax in 2018 from another search firm where he spent the previous seven years working exclusively with private equity funds. He focuses on the Financial Services market which incorporates insurance, asset and wealth management, specialty finance and fintech. Euan works on building new private equity relationships as well constantly striving to improve those existing relations to ensure Drax remains a core value provider to Sponsors as well as Management teams.

Out of the office, Euan still plays hockey although this may be coming to an end shortly (he says that every season), and is constantly striving to decrease his golf handicap, which is easier said than done. He has already made his debut for the Drax cricket team, hitting the winning runs in the process.

After deciding that using his Masters Degree was significantly overrated Kit made the transition into executive search. Since then Kit has successfully delivered multiple assignments across a range of sectors within PE and Plc environments. Over the past few years at Drax Kit has helped develop the business services practice with a specific focus on Board level appointments across Healthcare and Education.

When not working, Kit can be found on the golf course or following Sheffield United home and away.

Sebastian joined Drax in 2014 as a researcher and supported the delivery of assignments for high growth businesses and those backed by private equity across a number of sectors. More recently he has supported the development of the consumer practice with board level appointments.

Whilst not at work, Sebastian enjoys skiing - always making at least one trip a year. He enjoys travelling, seeing new places and cultures. For the time that he is in the UK, Sebastian enjoys the theatre and watching sport.

Chris joined Drax 10 years ago as a graduate in the role of researcher. He has supported numerous board and operational board level searches across all sectors but currently focuses on selected key accounts within the technology enabled business services sector. Chris recently supported a FTSE100 services business in appointing a Managing Director to turn around a business in decline. Having completed the turnaround, the individual was subsequently promoted twice and is now a Plc Board Director running their largest geographic region.

When not working, Chris has a keen interest in playing and watching a variety of sports, including football, golf, squash and tennis. He also enjoys running and biking round the various nearby commons, followed by a pint or three in the local pub.

Clancy started her career at Deloitte where after a false start as a very poor accountant she spent 17 years in a range of people roles. Following Deloitte, her last Board level role was in a Private Equity backed £200m t/o business where she led the People and Change agenda. Joining Drax in early 2016, Clancy provides support to all areas of the Human Capital agenda. At the heart of the work Clancy undertakes is the philosophy that great performance is achieved by developing great teams. This includes working with the Chairman and CEOs of in-place teams to provide support around organisational design and development, around succession and market insights into specific roles, and in designing and delivering team and organisational assessment and subsequent development workshops and interventions. She has recently worked with a number of global businesses to support the development of a new leadership team structure, including advice around hiring new key team members, and working with their leadership teams to improve their effectiveness and hence business performance. Clancy is also an executive coach working one to one with CEOs, and senior partners, as well as with their teams.

When not working, Clancy can be found at home in Hampshire with her husband, sons and dogs, either baking or gardening, or when holidays permit, on the ski slope.

Sam is responsible for developing Drax’s Data capability, known as drxDATA, which underpins the work we undertake across the firm. Sam joined the firm as a Researcher working across sectors before taking up his current role. Responsible for ensuring Drax has access to the best market intelligence, his role has developed to lead best practice in knowledge management across the company. Sam’s team has the continuing responsibility to develop upon our proprietary data and ensure that its application heightens our clients’ experience.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing tennis and rowing recreationally. He also has a strong interest in politics and history.

Highly experienced in providing key financial data and support to assist in key business decisions, Marek joined Drax 10 years ago. His responsibilities include coordinating special projects, delivering financial reporting on tight deadlines and utilising existing resources to ensure projects receive the correct support.

When not working, and when his recently increased family size permits, Marek has a keen interest in sports including football and tennis. Marek also enjoys motorcycling, on and off road.

Karen has been part of the Drax team for over 10 years and is a key member of the operational and finance team. She is responsible for ensuring our internal best practice is adhered to at all times and also deals with issues of compliance and contracting, particularly for our network of interim executives. Karen’s efforts contribute towards ensuring the highest levels of client and candidate experience are achieved and maintained.

Karen has a keen interest in travel and, when not working, is often to be found either planning or embarking on her next adventure.

Anais joined Drax in 2018 to support the development of Drax’s TMT practice with a dual focus on European and US activities. She previously spent four years at a primary research firm working with hedge funds, private equity funds and management consultancies. Before moving to London, Anais lived in New York where she completed her undergraduate studies. Whilst there, she did an internship at Hillary Clinton’s Senate office and upon graduation she worked at a law firm in Boston. Anais speaks Greek, French and English fluently, basic Italian and beginner level Spanish.

In her free time Anais enjoys discovering quirky tech gadgets, poetry and classical music.

Seb is a Director at Drax, joining in 2016 with a focus on developing our pre-deal support practice and now leads Support Services coverage as part of the Business Services Practice. Seb began his professional career with a London based VC/fund manager which invested in early stage technology and life science assets, before joining Deloitte’s London office.

When not working and family life permits, Seb can be found shooting, in an auction house or enjoying the UK countryside.
