  • The British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) has appointed Calum Paterson, the Managing Partner of Scottish Equity Partners, to be its vice chairman for the year 2017-18.

Calum will support Helen Steers, ‎Partner and Head of European Primary Investment at Pantheon Ventures, who was appointed BVCA chairman for 2017-18 in December and takes up her role this month.

Paterson has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry and works across Scottish Equity Partner’s offices in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow. He is chairman of Scottish Equity Partners’ investment committee and has overseen its investments in more than 150 companies.

He is currently a non-executive director on the boards of fintech companies and Zuto. Paterson is also a director of Artemis AIM VCT plc and a member of the GlobalScot network. He has BA and MBA degrees from the University of Strathclyde, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
