Professional services firm Star Group, which is backed by private equity firm Parcom, has acquired Sentijn Engineering, an engineering consultancy based in the Netherlands.
Star provides technical professional services in consultancy, staffing and recruitment to clients in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It has an annual turnover of approximately €170 million (£149 million).
Sentijn was founded in 2012 and provides engineering consultancy and project management services to the infrastructure, construction and mechanical engineering markets.
The acquisition represents the next step in Star’s diversification strategy, which is aimed at offering a wide range of technical and specialist services and project support to various industrial markets.
Sil Hoeve, CEO of Star Group, said: “An important reason for growth is to continue offering our employees opportunities to develop themselves within their specialisms by diversifying further across the whole technical sector. In addition to growth, we are focusing on continual development of the quality of our services and the quest for innovative ideas and projects to make the work more appealing to specialists and to organise our processes more efficiently for our clients.”
Marijn Ligthart, Associate at Sentijn, added: “With the takeover by Star, we can better serve our clients in a broad sense while maintaining the current level of abstraction.”
