Xtrac

When fast-growing transmission technology business Xtrac needed to create a new Chief Operating Officer role, its private equity investors Inflexion recommended they get Drax to help them find the right person. After meeting Drax’s David Bushell and Rob Lanham, Xtrac CEO Adrian Moore and Head of Human Resources Jane Gilham engaged them to conduct the search. From the shortlist Drax presented, Xtrac appointed Piet Daenen, a former senior vice president at Rolls Royce, to the role.

The Result

Adrian Moore, CEO of Xtrac, said: “It was quite a complex appointment because it was a new role for our business and also a senior board position, but Drax helped us with that complexity. Key for me was getting someone who had the right team fit as well as the right skills and experience. That was really important and Rob understood that and made it his focus too, which was really good.”

He added: “Drax helped us to firm up the job specification and provided clear documented summaries and follow up phone calls throughout the process, and they understood the time pressures involved. They presented a really good shortlist and it was actually quite difficult to make a decision because there were some very good candidates on it, but Piet stood out.”

Adrian added: “Drax came highly recommended so I had high hopes but they performed to the level that I expected. I thought they were very good and would use them again, and I would recommend them to others.”
