CASE STUDY -
Moneypenny

Moneypenny’s outsourced communications products are world leading but so, too, is their culture, according to The Sunday Times. The business has been included in the paper’s 100 Best Companies to Work For six times. Drax’s tech-enabled team were recently engaged by Moneypenny and ECI Partners to work on a c-suite mandate.

The Result

Mark Keeley, Partner at ECI Partners, said: “Drax were able to clearly articulate their search process and then follow it up with a thorough and well-considered shortlist document. This meant we could sit down with Moneypenny and review Drax’s methodology, the keyword searches, the deal mapping, and how that filtered down from a population of several thousand potential candidates to a shortlist of fifteen or twenty.”

He added: “What I also appreciated during this mandate was the regular contact and updates from trusted senior individuals. We have a long-standing relationship with Drax and there’s no question about their ability.”

Joanna Swash, CEO at Moneypenny, said: “It’s important for anyone joining the business to have an understanding of what makes Moneypenny tick. We need people with high EQ because we are a feelings business not a process business.”

She added: “Ultimately, we like to find brilliant and talented people with the right attitude. To this end, Drax’s approach and methodology was second to none. The PACE system perfectly mapped how each shortlisted candidate would fit into the business and I was very pleased with the process. I felt that Drax understood us and once you find a partner who understands your business it is hard to move away from them. Life is about relationships and trust!”

“It was a pleasure working with both Joanna and Mark on this mandate. As Joanna says, relationships in this business are absolutely key so it’s important for us to grasp what makes a business tick and what ambitions it holds for the future. Through our data-driven methodology we are able to focus quickly but comprehensively on a number of categories. As such, our selection process involves identifying each individual’s professional capability while also understanding their broader executive style. We were really happy to help – and we look forward to working with Moneypenny again.”
